Lijia Zhang

Zhang Lijia (Chinese张丽佳, Pinyin Zhang Lijia; MAY 1964 in Nanjing, People's Republic of China) is a Chinese author and journalist.

Life

At the age of 16, she began as a worker in a missile factory. During the decade in the armaments factory, she learned English. In 1990 she went to England, then to study journalism there. Your articles have been published in newspapers and magazines. She is co-author of China Remembers ( OUP, 1999) and her memoir ' Socialism is Great! ' A Worker's Memoir of The New China was, inter alia, published by the University of Western Australia Press. Lijia Zhang was with Calum MacLeod, a reporter for USA Today, married. She lives with her two daughters in Beijing.
