Lilian Watson

Lilian Watson ( born September 17, 1857 in Harrow, † May 27 1918 in Berkswell, West Midlands ) was an English tennis player.

Watson was the daughter of a vicar. She played the first women's competition of the Wimbledon Championships in 1884 and reached the final where she met her younger sister Maud, and finally had to admit defeat with 8:6, 3:6, and 2:6. Lilian Watson stepped up to in the next two years at Wimbledon. 1885 she left in the first round, in the following year she was beaten in the semifinals of the later winner Blanche Bingley. 1885 she won at her sister Maud side the double at the Irish Championships.

She died in 1918 at the age of 60 years.
