Lilla Edet Municipality

Lilla Edet is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götaland County and the historic provinces of Västergötland and Bohuslän. The main town of the municipality is Lilla Edet.

History

Prior to the merger of Älvsborgs County, Skaraborgs Göteborgs och Bohus Lan and Lan to Västra Götaland County Lilla Edet belonged to the province Älvsborg.

The church in its present form has existed since 1971, when Lilla Edet, Lödöse and domestic Torpe merged to one municipality.
