Lilli Nielsen

Lilli Nielsen (born Reker ) ( born December 21, 1926 in Ronne, Bornholm, Denmark) is a Danish psychologist who promotes and teaches children who are also multiple disabilities blind or visually impaired and under certain circumstances. She has published several textbooks under the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Life

Lilli was the second of seven children of the Reker family, four of whom were born blind. At the age of seven years, she therefore came already to the task of taking care of her little blind brother.

Initially taught Lilli Nielsen preschool children, then worked in a hospital, studied psychology and was eventually hired as a teacher for blind children. In 1988, she was awarded her PhD in psychology in Aarhus.

Dr. Lilli Nielsen also took over the management of the public school for the promotion of blind and visually impaired children and adolescents in Denmark, Refsnaesskolen later.

Became known Lilli Nielsen for the development of learning materials, especially for the so-called little room, the place for decades around the world in early intervention and promotion of children born blind application.
