Lillian Watson (swimmer)

Lillian " Pokey " Watson ( born July 11, 1950) is a former American swimmer.

Your strongest lines were the 200 m freestyle and 200 m backstroke. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo, she was 100 m freestyle Olympic gold medalist with the U.S. relay 4 x. Four years later, at the Games in Mexico City she became the first swimmer gold in the 200m backstroke.

In 1984, she was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Watson was with the float and sports medicine Allen Richardson († 2003), married and has three children.
