Liman (landform)

Limane (derived from Turkish: liman: port) are typically pronounced estuaries of rivers. They were created by a post-glacial sea level rise, and resulted in the flooding of valleys. Through the development of spits Limane were also cut off in many parts of the sea. The flooded from the sea valleys run in estuaries always perpendicular to the shoreline.

Limane see lagoons or the lagoon often similar because the coastline are formed as Spit. However, they involve not originally a brackish water. Penetrates the sea in a shallow incised valley system of a river one, the result is a Lima coast. Animal and plant life that is different from that of the Lagoon.

The Lima irrigation ( irrigation and sludge ) is an irrigation method according to this system.
