Limanowa
Limanowa [l ʲ ima'nɔva ] ( German Ilmenau) is a city in the eastern part of the Inselbeskiden ( Beskid Wyspowy ) in southern Poland with about 14,700 inhabitants. Located 23 km north- west of Nowy Sacz and is the capital of the powiat Limanowski, Lesser Poland Province.
History
The city was chartered in 1565 by the City of Magdeburg law. During the First World War, the Battle of Limanowa - Lapanow took place here in 1914 instead.
