Limbach Municipal Church

The town church Limbach, Limbach -Oberfrohna was first mentioned in 1346 as a wooden chapel and 1511 redesigned as a solid church in half-timbered style. In 1811 it was rebuilt to the town church and in 1894 expanded to include an extension. 1899, the tower of the church was renovated after a lightning strike.

1918 an organ of Jehmlich with 28 votes was built in 1972 and a baptismal font from Lauchhammer cast installed in the sanctuary.

On January 25, 2009, there was a traffic accident in which a car struck by a 35-meter -wide crack in the roof of the church. The 23 -year-old seriously injured driver was rescued by the volunteer fire with a turntable ladder.
