Limburger Domsingknaben

The Limburg Cathedral Boys 'Choir are a boys' choir from Limburg an der Lahn in Hesse.

The choir was founded in 1967 by the Limburg Bishop Wilhelm Kempf, first choir director was the former Director of Music Hans Bernhard ( † 2003). The main task of the choir is the ceremonial organization of the Sunday High Mass in the Cathedral of Limburg in the weekly change with the Limburg Cathedral Choir. Also in the design of other services throughout the country participates in the choir. In addition, the company Domsingknaben concert tours at home and abroad.

The repertoire of the choir boys ranges from Gregorian chant through the Baroque, Viennese Classicism and romanticism to modern music.

The Head of these Domsingknaben since 1987 by Klaus Domkantor knobs, vocal coach is William Gries.

Former Limburg Cathedral Boys' Choir include the tenors John Kalpers, Christoph Prégardien and Gerd Türk and the university teachers Eberhard Metternich.

Since 1969, the in arts boarding school in Hadamar near Limburg serves as a specimen seat. The boarders visited the neighboring Prince Johann Ludwig school. Since 2007, however, no more boarders are housed permanently in Hadamar and it is only day-care place.
