Limeira is a city in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, with around 280,000 inhabitants.

Geography

Limeira is located about 150 km north- west of São Paulo. The city area is 581 km ².

Education

The University Universidade Estadual de Campinas has a campus in Limeira.

Sports

The local football club Internacional AA plays in the second division of the State of São Paulo championship. Between 1986 and 1988 the club was also second-rate national and played in the Brazilian Série B. The basketball club Basquete Winner Limeira, in 2006 the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete win.
