LimeSurvey

LimeSurvey (formerly PHPSurveyor ) is a free online survey application that enables you to develop online surveys without programming skills to publish and to record the results in a database. It is written in PHP and is based on a MySQL, PostgreSQL or MSSQL database.

History

LimeSurvey was originally registered as a SourceForge.net project under the name PHPSurveyor on 20 February 2003 and developed by the Australian software developer Jason Cleeland. The first release, version 0.93, was released on 5 March 2003. The project rapidly gained through the development of advanced features a wide public.

In 2006, the project management was taken over by Carsten Schmitz and renamed on 17 May 2007 by PHPSurveyor in LimeSurvey. Background is to simplify the software licensing. The letters PHP in names were in conflict with the PHP License, which is used by many open source development libraries.
