Lin Shaye

Lin Shaye ( born 1944 in Detroit, Michigan ) is an American actress.

Private life

Lin Shaye, was born in Detroit, the daughter of Dorothy, a homemaker, and Max Mendle Shaye, a supermarket owner and painter and is Jewish. She was married twice, among other things, with the actor Clayton Landey, but is now divorced from him. From this relationship comes from a common son. She is the younger sister of film producer and director Robert Shaye.

Career

Shaye played at the beginning of her career supporting roles in several films, such as in the movie Goin, in which Jack Nicholson played both directing and starring. Thereafter she appeared in a few films of her brother Robert, as for example in the 1990 released movie Book of Love. In 1994, she played the movie Dumb and Dumber the role of Mrs. Newborn. It was followed by other appearances in movies like Kingpin, There's Something About Mary or Detroit Rock City.

Shaye played in four films by director Walter Hill: The Long Riders (1980 ), To hell with the coals ( Brewster 's Millions, 1985), Fallout ( Extreme Prejudice, 1987) and Last Man Standing (1996). Together with director Jack Sholder, she worked three times: in two hours before midnight ( Alone in the Dark, 1982), The Hidden (1987) and The Portrait of the killer ( Sketch Artist II: Hands That See, 1995).

In 2003, she starred in the horror film Dead End alongside Ray Wise and Alexandra Holden the role of Laura Harrington. In 2004, she starred in the movie The Hillside Strangler, the mother of the serial killer Angelo Bueno, Jenny Bueno. In the movie Snakes on a Plane 2006 she played the role of Grace.
