Lin Weining

Lin Weining (Chinese林伟宁, Pinyin Lín Weining, born March 15, 1979 in Changyi, Shandong) is a Chinese weightlifter.

Career

Lin Weining comes from Changyi City in the Chinese province of Shandong. They started in 1992 at a sports school in her hometown with the weight lifting. In 1996 she achieved the qualification for the province of Shandong team, and shortly thereafter the Chinese for the national team. In 1996 she is in the world rankings in the class up to 70 kg body weight with 222.5 kg on a good central position. In 1999, she scored her first World Records, which several more were to follow. Their greatest success was winning the Olympic gold medal in the class to 69 kg of body weight in 2000 in Sydney. Then she stepped back from active competition and studied sports science at the University of Shandong.
