Lina Andersson ( born March 18, 1981 in Gällivare ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier.

Sports career

Internationally, it first appeared in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 1997 in Calgary in appearance and ran in the same year to three titles at the European Youth Olympic Festival. A few weeks after her World Cup debut in November 1998, she won a gold medal over five kilometers in classic style at the Junior World Championships in Saalfelden. This success could be repeated in Karpacz two years later. Your first podium in the World Cup it secured on 26 November 2000 as a member of the season, which took third place in the Norwegian Beitostølen.

This was followed by two weaker seasons, in winter 2004/2005, however, Andersson has been improved again - was soon affected by it again several diseases. My career highlight was 2006 Olympic Winter Games when she was Olympic Champion in the team sprint with Anna Dahlberg. In the following years, however, she succeeded only rarely venture into sprint semi-finals, 2010 and 2011 it reached only one final. Not least because of chronic respiratory problems Andersson was on 12 April 2011 her career end known. It announced its intention to start studying. She participated in a total of five Nordic World Ski Championships and twelve Swedish championships and competed in 102 Cup races.
