Lina Romay (singer)

Lina Romay ( born January 16, 1919 in New York City; † December 17, 2010 in Pasadena, California; actually Elena Maria Romay ) was an American singer and actress.

Life

Romay, daughter of an attaché at the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles, first appeared in the entertainment business at the beginning of the 1940s as a singer of Xavier Cugat Orchestra in appearance. Together with Cugat and his orchestra she was You Were Never Lovelier ( You Were Never Lovelier ) next to Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth to see 1942 in the film, which led to follow-on investments as an actress, as in man without a heart (Adventure) with Clark Gable and Greer Garson. Also in TV shows she has appeared until 1957, such as in The Red Skelton Show. After she retired from the film business.

From the late 1970s on, she worked as a Spanish-language radio spokeswoman for horse racing.
