Lincoln County (Idaho)
Lincoln County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Shoshone.
Geography
The County is located in south-central Idaho and has an area of 3123 square kilometers, of which one square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Camas County, Blaine County, Minidoka County, Jerome County Gooding County and. It lies entirely in the plane of the Snake River Plain.
History
Lincoln County was formed on March 18, 1895 from parts of Alturas County. It was named after the U.S. president Abraham Lincoln.
Demographic data
According to the census in 2000 lived in Lincoln County 4,044 people in 1,447 households and 1,050 families. The population density was 1 person / km ². The racial the population was made up of 86.47 percent White, 0.47 percent African American, 1.21 percent Native American, 0.45 percent Asian, 0.05 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 9.42 percent from other races groups; 1.93 percent were descended from two or more races. 13.4 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 1,447 households out of which 37.7 percent of children under the age of 18 living with them. 61.5 percent were married couples living together. 5.5 percent were single mothers and 27.4 percent were non-families. 22.9 percent of all households and 10.2 percent living alone who is 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.77 and the average family size was 3.27 persons.
30.4 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 9.0 percent 18-24 Years, 25.5 percent between 25 and 44, 22.0 percent between 45 and 64 years. 13.1 percent were 65 years or older. The average age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 106.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over 105.8 males.
The median household income was $ 32,484, and the median income for a family $ 36,792. Males have a median income of $ 26,576, women $ 20,032. The per capita income was $ 14,257. 13.1 percent of the population and 10.8 percent of families are below the poverty line.
