Lincoln County (Mississippi)

Lincoln County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Brookhaven, which was named after the city in New York. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

History

The Lincoln County was formed on April 7, 1870 from parts of Amite, Copiah, Franklin, Lawrence and Pike County. It was named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States.
