Lincoln County (Wisconsin)
The Lincoln County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In 2010, the County had 28 743 inhabitants and a population density of 12.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) Merrill, which was named after the railway pioneer S. S. Merrill.
Geography
The County is located in north-central Wisconsin and has an area of 2349 square kilometers, of which 62 square kilometers are water surface.

History
The Lincoln County was formed in 1874 from parts of Marathon County. It was named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States.
Population
According to the census in 2010, lived in Lincoln County 28 743 people in 12,754 households. The population density was 12.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. In the 12,754 households lived statistically 2.2 persons each.
The racial the population was composed of 97.5 percent white, 0.6 percent African American, 0.4 percent Native American, 0.5 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 0.9 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity, 1.2 percent of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
21.2 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 59.6 percent were between 18 and 64 and 19.2 percent were 65 years or older. 49.7 percent of the population was female.
