The Lincoln Financial Field is a stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Owner is the city of Philadelphia and managed it is by the NFL team Philadelphia Eagles, which plays its home games there. The stadium was named in June 2002, after Lincoln National has bought the naming rights for the next 21 years for USD 139.6 million.

The stadium was built to replace the old Veterans Stadium. The seating capacity was overall not increased, but the number of luxurious and rollstuhlgänglichen places was doubled. As the Veterans Stadium was built with four cells and the Lincoln Financial Field a prison. After the fans' behavior significantly improved compared to previous days, the prison but was eliminated.

Events

The stadium was inaugurated on 3 August 2003 with a friendly match between Manchester United and FC Barcelona. Bruce Springsteen was in the same year three sold-out concerts there.

The football team of Temple University plays its home games as well at Lincoln Financial Field, paying the Eagles for six million U.S. dollars annually.
