Lincoln LS
Lincoln LS (1999-2002)
The Lincoln LS was produced by the U.S. carmaker Lincoln from 1999 to 2006 sedan in the upper middle class with a sporty twist.
The Lincoln LS6 ( V6 engine ) and LS8 ( V8 engine ) should establish the Ford - owned U.S. company Prestige Lincoln brand also on the European market and close the gap between the core Ford brand and the luxury brand Jaguar. From a launch in Europe as a successor to the Ford Scorpio was apart at the last moment in favor of the subsidiary Jaguar and almost identical to the S-Type. The Lincoln LS is divided with the Jaguar S-Type platform DEW98. Furthermore, developed by Jaguar AJ- V8 engine is installed in the LS8.
The series was offered with the following engines:
1999-2002:
LS6: 3.0- liter light-alloy V6 engine with 24 valves and 154 kW (210 Nm of torque PS/278 ) with manual gearbox or ( optional ) 5 - speed automatic transmission.
LS8: 3.9 - liter light-alloy V8 engine with 32 valves and 185 kW ( 252 Nm of torque PS/362 ) with 5 -speed automatic transmission
2002-2006:
LS6: 3.0- liter light-alloy V6 engine with 24 valves and 171 kW (232 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm PS/298 ) with 5 - speed automatic transmission.
LS8: 3.9 -liter V8 engine with 32 valves and 206 kW ( 280 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm PS/388 ) with SelectShift automatic transmission, the V8 engine is equipped with 4 -liter V8 of the AJ series of Jaguar related. In the last model year, however, the V6 engine was no longer available.
The LS received a small facelift at the rear end of 2002.
In May 2006, the LS- production is complete, the successor to the Lincoln MKS since 2008.
