Lincoln Square (Manhattan)

Lincoln Square is called both a place like the neighborhood that surrounds this place, in the New York district of Manhattan.

Location

The square Lincoln Square is located in the Upper West Side at the intersection of Broadway and Columbus Avenue between West 65th Street and 66th Street.

This area is connected to the New York subway network by the U -Bahn station 66th Street - Lincoln Center (IRT Broadway - Seventh Avenue Line ).

History

West of Columbus Avenue and Broadway, this district was similar to run down as before Hell's Kitchen in the south and as depicted in West Side Story. The construction of the Cultural Center Lincoln Center and more recently Trump Place and other hochgeschossiger apartment buildings led to gentrification of the western end of Lincoln Square.
