Linda Hunt

Linda Hunt ( born April 2, 1945 in Morristown, New Jersey as Lydia Susanna Hunter) is an American actress and Academy Award winner.

Life

Linda Hunt studied directing at the Goodman Theatre School of Drama in Chicago. She had her film debut in 1980 in the musical comedy Popeye - The sailor with the hard blow, in which she appeared opposite Robin Williams. In 1983 it was awarded an Oscar for her portrayal of male photographer Billy Kwan in Peter Weir's drama A Year of Living Dangerously for Best Supporting Actress. Hunt is the first and so far only woman to win an Oscar for the portrayal of a man.

In the Western Silverado 1985 she starred alongside Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn and Kevin Costner, 1990 in Kindergarten Cop alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the horror film The Relic 1997 alongside Penelope Ann Miller and Tom Sizemore. The scenes with her in the Western comedy Maverick - The Colt belt, an ace in the hole (1994 ) found no use in the final version of the film. Hunt was seen in 1993 in the mini TV series Space Rangers in a leading role. In the television series NCIS: Los Angeles (since 2009) it is one of the main cast.
