Linda Lavin

Linda Lavin (* October 15, 1937 in Portland, Maine ) is an American singer and actress who became known to bite mainly by its long-standing role as Alice Hyatt in the sitcom snack.

Life

Lavin attended the College of William & Mary. After several off-Broadway engagements entered first time in 1962 on Broadway. The following year, she had a guest role in a television series. In 1967, they had a greater television role in the adaptation of the musical Damn Yankees at the side of Lee Remick and Phil Silvers on. Between 1975 and 1976 she gave up a recurring role in the series Barney Miller, which, however, favor the lead role in the sitcom snack with bite ( Alice). The on Martin Scorsese film Alice Does not Live Here -based series was produced from 1976 to 1985 and was awarded a total of five Emmy nominations and three Golden Globe Awards. Lavin also sang the theme song and led in later seasons also directed.

Lavin appeared alongside her theater and television exposure in only three feature films, The Muppets Take Manhattan, Second luck with Jeff Bridges and I Want to Go Home with Gérard Depardieu. More often, she starred in made-for TV movies. They also informed the Performing Arts at New York University.

Lavin is married his third wife in 2005. Between 1969 and 1981 she was married to actor Ron Leibman, a second marriage she led from 1982 to 1991 with Kip Niven.
