Linde (Tollense)

The Linde at the Hindmost mill in Neubrandenburg.

The Linde - known in ancient times also Starger - is a right tributary of the Tollense in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Your source is located west of Woldegk. The Linde flows through the cities of Burg Stargard and Neubrandenburg. From the Stargarder gate, just behind the swan pond in Neubrandenburg Linde flows in the outer moat of the medieval defenses and leaves it just before its confluence with the upper stream, a channel in the upper reaches of the Tollense. The Gätenbach, a canal south of Neubrandenburg town center now leads with 0.55 m³ / s the greater part of the lime water directly into the Tollensee from.

In historical times the Linde drove many important water mills, filled parts of the medieval fortified grave system of Neubrandenburg and flooded in times of war the fracture surfaces in the south and west of the city.
