Lindenberg, Rhineland-Palatinate

Lindenberg is a municipality in the district of Bad Durkheim in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Lambrecht (Pfalz ). Lindenberg is a nationally recognized resort.

Geography

Lindenberg is located in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park. The municipality also includes the residential places Old machine, Dörrental, forest house Krankental, New machine and Nuns.

History

The village street was probably made around 1100 from a castle out, which belonged to the Bishopric of Speyer. End of the 13th century Lindenberg went as a fief to the Lords of Frankenstein. 1550, the castle was destroyed.

Religion

Lindenberg has an independent Catholic parish in the Diocese of Speyer, to which the Catholic parish church of St. Mary the Immaculate and the pilgrimage chapel of St. Cyriac belong.
