Geography
The community lies on the edge of Oderbruchs, about 16 km north- west of Frankfurt (Oder).
Community structure
The municipality consists of the villages Dolgelin, Libbenichen, New Mahlisch and Saxony village.
History
Incorporations
It was created on 26 October 2003, the voluntary merger of the previously independent municipalities Dolgelin, Libbenichen, New Mahlisch and Saxony village.

Economy and infrastructure
Traffic
Through the community, the Federal highway 167 runs from Bad Freiwalde to Frankfurt ( Oder).
Also, the municipality following the railway line Eberswalde- Frankfurt ( Oder). Today on the route runs the East German railway.
