Lindholmen was an imperial castle on Börringesjön in the then Danish historical province Scania. It is probably in the 1310er years during which time Erik VI. Menveds emerged.

On Lindholmen was the former Swedish King Albrecht III. imprison after his fall from the throne together with his son Erich 1389-1395. Among other things, in the presence of Queen Margaret I of Mecklenburg and Duke John IV found here the main negotiations on the peace agreement and the release of imprisoned Albrecht held with the Mayor of Lübeck Hinrich Westhof as a negotiator. The contract was signed on June 17, 1395 at Lindholmen.

Lindholmen was the center of the province Lindholm Len ( swedish Lindholmens län), which was in 1540 part of the new province with Malmo Malmo longer as the new center. The fort lost in subsequent years rapidly in importance.

From the ruins in today's Swedish community Svedala today is to see little more than a hill.
