Lindsay Crouse

Lindsay Crouse ( born May 12, 1948 in New York City as Lindsay Ann Crouse ) is an American actress.

Life and achievements

The father of the actress, Russel Crouse, was a screenwriter. Lindsay Crouse graduated in 1970 with a degree at Radcliffe College. She debuted on the side of William Shatner in the TV drama The tenth stage from the year 1975. In the film drama The Untouchables ( 1976) by Alan J. Pakula she starred opposite Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford a small supporting role. In the comedy Between the Lines (1977 ), she played one of the major roles alongside John Heard and Jeff Goldblum. Also in 1977 she played a supporting role in the movie Slap Shot with Paul Newman, the wife of a hockey player.

In the film drama Places in the Heart (1984 ) Crouse took next to Sally Field and Ed Harris one of the major roles. For this role she was nominated in 1985 for Best Supporting Actress Oscar. In the science-fiction film drama The Visitor (1989 ) she played the role of the wife of a writer ( Christopher Walken), who is convinced that aliens had performed with him medical experiments. In the thriller 24 hours in his power (1990 ) she played an FBI agent who the kidnapper Michael Bosworth ( Mickey Rourke ) follows, which brings the family Cornell (Anthony Hopkins and Mimi Rogers ) to its violence. In the television drama Walls Could Talk (1996 ) she starred opposite Cher, Anne Heche, Jada Pinkett Smith and Rita Wilson.

Crouse was married in 1977 to 1990, David Mamet, by whom she has two daughters. In 1998 she married the editor and director Rick Blue.
