Lindsey Collen

Lindsey Collen ( b. 1948 Mqunduli in Umtata, Transkei, South Africa) is a living Mauritian writer.

Awards

She became internationally known when she won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best Novel from Africa for her novel Sita and the violence of 1994. This novel is banned in Mauritius. Her novel Boy was in 2005 in the same category awarded this prize.
