Line of succession to the Bruneian throne

The succession to the throne in Brunei brings the Sultan and Yang Di - Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in line of descent of the Sultan Hashim Jalilul Alam Aqamaddin (1885-1906) produced. The throne is the Thronfolgerat (English Council of Succession ), whose members are appointed by the reigning Sultan, determined. Practically, these are the oldest male begotten in wedlock and born descendants of the reigning sultan.

Details of succession are governed inter alia by the Constitution of Brunei Darussalam. Basically, the children of women of the Sultan are asked about such children who were conceived and born out of wedlock. Women have no rights in the succession. In most cases, the oldest male descendant of the heir to the throne, followed by the oldest male grandson.
