Lingayen Gulf

The Lingayen Gulf is a bay on the Philippine island of Luzon in the South China Sea.

It is surrounded by the provinces of Pangasinan and La Union and lies between the Zambales Mountains and the Cordillera Central. The Agno empties into the Bay.

In golf, there are several islands, of which the majority belong to the Hundred Islands National Park, which, however, are usually quite small. In the Gulf there are several cities like Dagupan, Alaminos and San Fernando. The creation of salt by salt pans and fishing are the main sources of income in the area.

In the battle for the Philippines, the end of 1941 and the American operation Mike I, the beginning of 1945, the Gulf played an important strategic role.
