Linjesender

A Linjesender was a long- wave radio transmitter lower power, who used a power line as a transmission antenna and was widely used in Norway.

Since many power lines often cross valleys in Norway because of the mountainous topography in considerable height, and thus show a good dispersion for long wave signals, this use was offered this at almost.

The Linjesender was one of the few applications that exploited the most disturbing radiation of PLC systems specifically. Transmission powers Linjesender used between 250 watts and 2000 watts.

In the era of FM broadcasting Linjesender lost importance. The last such station was decommissioned in 1987.
