Lino Aldani

Lino Aldani ( born March 29, 1926 in San Cipriano Po; † January 30, 2009 in Pavia ) was an Italian writer, who published under the pseudonym NL Janda.

Lino Aldani was a math teacher at a middle school in Rome in 1968 and returned to his hometown, where he was for several years mayor.

In 1960 he published his first short stories in the magazine Oltre Il Cielo ( Beyond the Sky) and founded in 1963 ( with Massimo Lo Jacono and Giulio Raiola ) Futuro, the first Italian science fiction magazine which did not indeed existed long, but still influential was and first texts published in Italian Adolfo Bioy Casares, among others, and Juan Rodolfo Wilcock. In the 1990s Futuro was revived.

Only in 1977 came Lino Aldanis first SF novel out, the four others followed. His works have been translated into numerous languages.
