Linthouse

Linthouse is a district of the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is located south of the River Clyde. Although Linthouse west connects directly to Govan and is often equated with the proximity with Govan, it is a private area. Nevertheless, it is counted within the city of Glasgow for Greater Govan area.

Linthouse 's economically most well-known company was the shipyard Alexander Stephen and Sons, which built, among others, a number of known vehicles of the Royal Navy.

The parish Linthouse the Church of Scotland ( Linthouse St. Kenneth ) existed until November 2007 and was then merged with the neighboring parishes of Govan Old and New Govan Govan and the New Linthouse Parish.

There from 1881 to 1900 consisted of the football club FC Linthouse in the Scottish Football League.
