Linus Lichtschlag

Linus Lichtschlag ( born September 4, 1988 in Berlin ) is a German rower. His biggest successes are the victory at the World Championships 2010 at the lightweight quadruple sculls and the 2010 European Championships in the lightweight double sculls. At the Olympic Games in London in 2012, he finished 6th place in the final.

Career

Light blow came to rowing through the rowing squad of Paul Natorp High School at the age of thirteen years, and joined the rowing club at the Wannsee quickly. In 2006, he was the first member of the national team at the Junior World Championships, he finished in a two coxless sixth place. In his first year in the age group under 23, he was spare rowers for the U23 World Championships, the following year he qualified in the lightweight double sculls for this competition, and came in the final in fourth place. In 2009 he became German champion in the lightweight single sculls ( U23 ), was once again qualified for the U23 World Championships and won the bronze medal.

In May 2010, the light was resuspended in Brandenburg an der Havel first time German champion in the lightweight single sculls and was subsequently nominated in the lightweight double sculls with the two- years-younger Lars Hartig of the Rowing World Cup. After a third place in Munich and a second place in Lucerne Lichtschlag and Hartig were in September in Montemor -o -Velho (Portugal ) European champion. At the World Championships 2010 he won in the same occupation, the B-final and finished in seventh place overall. In the lightweight quadruple sculls he was on the day after world champion.

Lichtschlag is a student in Berlin and starts for the rowing club at the Wannsee.
