Linus (magazine)

Linus is an Italian comic magazine, published since April 1965. Named after a character from the Peanuts magazine was the first Italian -language comic magazine for adults.

Publication and thematic orientation

The first issue appeared in April 1965 with the eponymous Peanuts character on the title screen. Besides the peanuts, among other things Al Capps Li'l Abner, Walt Kelly's Pogo and Chester Gould's Dick Tracy were made available to the Italian public. The Italian first publication of Barbarella was published in 1967 also first in Linus. In addition to mainly American comics but also indigenous signatories were promoted. So the comic neutron, in which Guido Crepax ' most famous comic character Valentina occurred for the first time appeared in May 1965 in the second edition of Linus. Over the years, the thematic focus of Linus changed in the direction of politics and satire.

Shortly after the first publication of numerous special editions were brought out on special themes under the name Linus. As a regular monthly supplement was published in January 1974 age linus the magazine. In 1977 was renamed the old linus old age. In 1986 was set old age.
