Linz-Land District

The political district of Linz-Land is located south of Linz in Upper Austria.

History

The district was created in 1868 and covered the area around Linz. In 1903, the judicial districts Urfahr and Ottenheim to the newly built district Urfahr were assigned. As a substitute the judicial district Neuhofen an der Krems of the BH Steyr-Land was added. Between 1939 and 1945 the two judicial districts Urfahr and Ottenheim were again administered by Linz-Land. By the end of 2004, the District Linz-Land was divided into three judicial districts Linz-Land, Enns and Neuhofen an der Krems. After the dissolution of Neuhofen and the renaming of the district court Linz-Land existed since 2005, only the judicial districts Traun and Enns.

Administrative divisions

The district of Linz -Land is divided into 22 municipalities, four of seven cities and market towns. The population figures are from January 1, 2013.
