Liquidmetal

Liquid Metal and Vitreloy are brand names for amorphous metal alloys (so-called metallic glasses ), which were developed by Liquidmetal Technologies. Due to their non- crystalline structure of the zirconium alloys used are more resilient and flexible than alloys of titanium or aluminum, which are used in the same fields. The material can be used in military and industrial applications often use; best known, however, is its use in sports equipment such as skis, tennis, softball and baseball bats.

As the inventor of Liquid Metal applies the Turkish researchers Atakan Peker.

An example of the composition of an alloy ( Vitreloy 106a): zirconium 58.5%; Copper 15.6%; Nickel 12.8%; Aluminum 10.3%; 2.8% niobium.
