The Indonesian island of Liran ( Lirang, Indon. Pulau Liran ) is one of the Barat Daya Islands - (Southwest Islands).

Geography

Geographically part of the Lesser Sunda Islands is Liran, but politically it belongs to the province of Maluku. Here is part of Liran Kecamatans ( subdistrict ) Pulau - Pulau Wetar, Government District ( kabupaten ) Southwest Moluccas. Liran is located southwest off the coast of Wetar. 13 km to the southwest lies the East Timorese island of Atauro, the west, the island of Alor.

Population

On the Malayo - Polynesian language Liran Wetar and Papua Fataluku language are spoken.
