Lisa Leslie

Lisa Deshaun Leslie - Lockwood (born 7 July 1972 Gardena, CA, United States) is a former professional basketball player who played from 1997 to 2009 for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association.

Career

Until 1994, Lisa Leslie played at the University of Southern California. In the 1994-95 season they played for SICILGESSO in Italy. She played from 1997 to 2009 the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA, where she was assigned on 22 January 1997. With the Sparks Leslie in 2001 and 2002 WNBA champion. In both years, it was Finals MVP.

It was 2001, 2004 and 2006 was elected MVP. In 2004 she was also WNBA Defensive Player of the Year. She stood six times in the All- WNBA First Team (1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004) and was nominated three times for the MVP of the All- Star Games ( 1999, 2001, 2002).

On 30 July 2002 Leslie wrote history. She scored a dunk as the first WNBA player in history.

2006 Lisa Leslie was elected to the WNBA All- Decade Team, a selection of ten players who had the biggest impact on the success of the league during the first ten years of the WNBA.

Leslie won four times with the U.S. national team's Olympic gold medal (1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008). In addition, they could twice the world title (1998 and 2002).
