Lisa Paus

Elisabeth " Lisa" Paus ( born September 19, 1968 in Rheine ) is a German politician ( Alliance 90/The Greens ) and since 2009 Member of the German Bundestag.

Life

After a voluntary social year in Hamburg's St. Elisabeth orphanage Lisa Paus went to study in Berlin. In 1999, she made ​​there, graduating with a degree in economics from the Free University of Berlin. From 1997 to 1999 she worked for the Frieder Otto Wolf MEPs. In 2005 she was a lecturer in economics at the College of Economics (BSE ) Berlin.

Since January 2009, she is the mother of a son.

Policy

Since 1995 she is a member of Alliance 90/The Greens. She was involved at various levels of the Berlin Greens and was inter alia a member of the executive committee ( 1997-1999 ), Speaker of the Federal Association of Economy and Finance (1997 to 2002) and the Federal Association of Science, Higher Education and Technology ( 2005 to 2007). She was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives in 1999. There she was, among other economic policy spokesperson of the group. She was also European political spokesperson (1999 to 2006), science policy spokesperson (2001 to 2006) and member of the Group Executive Board ( 1999-2000, 2002-2004 ). In the current legislative period 2006 she was economic and budgetary policy spokesperson of the Group and member of the economic, scientific and Main Committee and the Subcommittee on investment management and controlling.

Paus was chosen over third place in the Berlin State list of the Greens in the Bundestag in 2009. She is a member and chairwoman of the Finance Committee and member of the Committee on European Union Affairs of the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group.

Political positions

Paus supports the introduction of a one-time capital levy to reduce government debt in Germany. Together with the Green parliamentary group handed in September 2012 a draft law on property tax.
