Lisberg

Lisberg is a community in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg and a member of the administrative community Lisberg. The municipality is located in the Steigerwald.

History

Lisberg falls from afar on through the castle Lisberg. The castle and so the place was first mentioned in a deed from the year 820. The castle is one of the oldest surviving castles in Germany. From 1600 to 1707 had the Protestant line, from 1707 to 1790, the Catholic line of the barons of the Cathedral feudal possession of Lisberg. The castle is privately owned.

With the Act of Confederation, 1806, the rule of the barons of Münster- Lisberg came to Bavaria. The community Lisberg consists of the formerly independent communities Lisberg and Trabelsdorf since 1 January 1978.

History of the Jews in Lisberg

The Jewish community was first named in 1739 due to the use of their burial place. The dwellings of the Jews were in the area of ​​today's streets Kaulberg, Kasernstraße and of fountains. On 19 September 1904, the Jewish Community Lisberg was combined with that of Trabelsdorf. Until the end of April 1942, ten Jews were in Trabelsdorf.

Synagogue

The synagogue was in a residential building, in today's property Kaulberg 5, housed, which belonged to four owners. They consisted only of the synagogue room. In the years 1871/1872 the dilapidated property has been refurbished.

School

The children went from 1826 to 1869 in the newly formed religious school in Kolmsdorf in the house of the widow Wörner. Subsequently, the school was moved to Trabelsdorf.

Cemetery

Surrounded by chain-link and a beech hedge body space above Lisberg was first mentioned in 1739. 1904, the cemetery by the district office Bamberg II was fitted with paths, the tombs were given numbers. 1938, the cemetery was desecrated. Policy

Mayor since 1990 Peter Deusel ( ÜPL ), which in 2008 was re-elected with 66.67 % of votes. His successor is in the municipal elections in 2014 in a runoff Michael Bergrab ( ÜPL ) elected, who received 69.33 % of votes. The 22 year old Bergrab is thus taking office on May 1, Germany, his youngest mayor.

The local council of Lisberg has over the election period 2008/14 without the first mayor seven members of the Over -Party list ( ÜPL ) and five members of the CSU. In the election period 2002/ 08 the ÜPL and the CSU each had six seats.

Culture and Sport

Lisberg is a regular venue for the so-called Thunder Mountain Classic, a cycling race around the Steigerwald.

Breweries
