Synchronization

Formation

The parody of the Sissi trilogy was originally a Gagserie who had created Herbig for his comedy series Bullyparade. There, the skits were named "Sissi - Menopause an empress ." Unlike the sketches of the TV series but the name Sissi was not allowed to be used and has been modified in Lissi. The director described the film as " a genuflection " before the original Sissi films of the 1950s, which still had represented the Austrian Emperor and Empress of Romy Schneider and Karlheinz Böhm.

Herbig decided to implement the project as a cartoon. From an aesthetic point of view, as the director, the realization of the former skits was as animated film the right decision. Worked on the film about 50 animators, production costs amounted to twelve million euros.

There appear several times on people and places that can be seen as references to real people and places. Franz and Lissi live at the Chateau Schöngrün, which is an allusion to the Schonbrunn Palace. On Neuzahnstein lives Bussi King of Bavaria based on Neuschwanstein Castle and King Ludwig II.

Furthermore vielfältigte movie quotes can be found, including references to Pirates of the Caribbean, King Kong and The Mummy. Similarly, some scenes are borrowed from different fairy tales, including Rapunzel and The Three Little Pigs.

The Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote that the film is, at its best " big cinema ". The reviewer Fritz Göttler said: ". Beautifully Bullys film is awesome whenever he lets himself go a little bit, are degenerate pleasant " Furthermore, said Göttler, the film achieved animation is technically not the quality of American computer animated films, what Susanne Schmetkamp in the time also remarked. They also criticized the decision to conceive the film as an animation: " But the charms of the characters, as you know it from the Sissi sketches of the TV comedy show, can not stop digitally animate. [ ... ] In particular, but the hilarious facial expressions of Herbig, Tramitz and Kavanian that eventually accounted for the success of the previous films, is missing. A handful of corny jokes and dirty jokes, structureless strung together and originally only half just is not enough. "This film was generally weaker rated as all Herbig - productions before, and also at the box office, the film fell far short of the previous works.

The lexicon of the International film proclaims: " Gag and imaginative animated film on a high technical level, the need not fear comparison with international standards to spare. Lovingly designed characters and the careful synchronization of course, can not be overlooked that as a parody of those movies Sissi' the bite missing him, so that the film can exist rather than amusing homage.
