List of amendments to the United States Constitution
The additional article (English amend ments) to the United States Constitution are constitutional amendments that have been adopted by Congress and ratified by at least three-quarters of the states. Since the ratification of the Constitution in 1788 the Constitution were added 27 additional articles. Since the adoption of the first ten items as the Bill of Rights, there is a tradition to make any amendments to the Constitution by adding article and not change the original text. The text of the original consisting of seven articles constitution is thus now the same as for adoption. However, in order to increase the readability of the present Constitution, are those sections that have been superseded or modified by the Amendment, usually marked when printing in a particular way.
