List of craters on the Moon

Official names of structures on celestial bodies shall be assigned by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU). Managed the lists by the U.S. Geological Survey ( USGS) in the Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature (see links). They are updated online. For biographical information on namesake of lunar craters there are some changes, as several authors prepare books on Moon observer and thereby encounter inconsistencies in old publications. As an example, the question of the eponym of the lunar crater Kinau be mentioned.

The last tender in the list, they are adding on 2 August 2010.
