List of craters on Venus

Official names of structures on celestial bodies shall be assigned by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU). Managed the lists by the U.S. Geological Survey ( USGS) in the Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature (see links). They are updated online.

Of the nearly 1,000 identified impact craters on Venus have been named almost 900 that are included in this list. Craters on Venus are named after:

• Women who have made extraordinary in their field or Understanding ( crater diameter about 20 km)
• Female first name ( crater diameter is less than 20 km)

Some eponyms the persons concerned could not be determined. In these cases, the name was not linked. In the name, the IAU - attribution of origin was taken, regardless of whether this is true.
