List of current Indian governors

A governor in India is determined by the Indian president head of a federal state. While the government power is exercised in the states of the respective Chief Minister, is the governorship mainly ceremonial in nature. The duties of Governors and Vice- Governors meet at the state level as those of the president at Union level. A regular term lasts five years. My weightiest political tool is the power to propose to the President the imposition of President's rule across the state. Usually the office as opposed to the head of government and the regional political landscape is not occupied by a person from the respective State.

In the Union Territories Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Delhi and Pondicherry it is called Lieutenant Governor in same powers. In the other Union Territories Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep, the function with an administrator of the Indian Administrative Service is busy.
