List of emperors of Tibet

The traditional list of the most ancient Tibetan kings has 42 names. Of these, the first 26 are as mythical, because their existence is not attested sufficiently credible. The kings 27-32 are considered by the research today as historical figures. From 33 King to the rulers of a variety of Tibetan and not Tibetan sources are well known.

Only under the kings 31-33 resulted in a uniformly governed the Tibetan government; the previous ruler, called the Yarlung dynasty, had only the region of the Yarlung Valley in southern Tibet under its control.
