List of Governors-General of New Zealand
With the Letters Patent of May 11, 1917 was New Zealand, in recognition of the support of the then United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland during the First World War ( 1914-1918), as a permanent representative of the Crown Governor General and Commander -in- Chief ( Commander in Chief ) awarded by King George the Fifth. This was the first Governor-General of New Zealand on 28 June 1917, the Governor Arthur Foljambe, 2nd Earl of Liverpool.
