List of Governors of Jammu and Kashmir

The following table lists the Governors of Jammu and Kashmir on since the creation of the Office in 1965 with respective term of office. After the Jammu and Kashmir declared connection to India by Maharaja Hari Singh (1895-1961) this was until 1952 chief representative. From 1952 to 1965, his son Karan Singh, who acted as regent since 1949, as " Sadr -e Riyasat " held this position. On March 30, 1965, he became the first governor of the state.
